# Vector Mind

> Vector Mind (vectormind.site) is a free, browser-based AI study workspace. Users can chat with free AI models, ask questions about their own uploaded documents, convert documents into JSONL training datasets for fine-tuning language models, generate images from text prompts, and talk to an AI tutor by voice. No credit card is required and there is no paid plan.

## What it does

- **AI chat with free models.** Chat runs on free models from two providers: Kilo (default) and Puter. The Puter model list is fetched live and includes an "Auto" option that routes to an available free model (via OpenRouter's free router). If a model fails, the app retries with another model or provider.
- **Chat with your documents.** Upload PDF, Word (.docx), PowerPoint (.pptx) or plain text (.txt) files. Text is extracted, embedded and indexed so answers can draw on the most relevant passages (vector search / retrieval-augmented generation).
- **Documents to JSONL datasets.** Generate question-and-answer training examples from an uploaded document as JSON Lines (one JSON object per line). Jobs run in the background, can be retried if they fail, and the .jsonl file can be downloaded.
- **Image generation.** Create images from a text prompt (powered by Pollinations); generated images are saved to the user's gallery.
- **Voice tutor.** Speak to the tutor using the browser microphone and hear spoken replies (speech-to-text and text-to-speech are handled by Groq speech models).
- **Live web search.** For questions that need current information, chat can search the web first and list the sources under the answer.
- **Shareable chats.** Create a public read-only link to a conversation; signed-in users can copy (fork) a shared chat.
